Insurance
Dental
Insurance is one of the most beneficial and most misunderstood factors
in dental treatment today. This explanation will attempt to clear
up many common misconceptions about dental insurance.
Dental insurance may be provided by an employer through an
insurance carrier
as a benefit to its employees. It has No Connection at all to the provider
of dental treatment. The responsibility for filing insurance ultimately
falls on the patient and not on the provider of dental
treatment. We will gladly assist you in filing your primary
insurance at your request.
An often misunderstood term used by many insurance companies is
R&C (Reasonable
and Customary). This is an arbitrary fee limit at which the
insurance company will stop reimbursement. After this limit has
been reached,
coverage for a particular procedure will cease. This has nothing
to do
with the fee charged, but with the level of coverage negotiated by
your employer.
We will make every effort possible to assist you with
understanding your particular coverage. As a courtesy to our
patients, we will file your insurance. The amount insurance will
cover is only an estimate of payment. Unless prior
arrangements have been made, we ask that your portion be paid for
at the time services are rendered. If your insurance company pays
more than
what we expected, you will be reimbursed when all insurance
payments are received. Ultimately the patient will be responsible
for any Balance
acquired on their account.
